Ajurveeda & homeopathy

In Ajurveeda, diseases are primarily treated with nutrition, plants and lifestyle, but also with yoga, mantra and meditation, etc. In homeopathy, the principle “like cures like” applies. In Ayurveda, this approach has been used for thousands of years, among other treatment principles.

My conscious exposure to complementary and alternative medicine, internationally known under the acronym CAM, began when my children were small. Rumors of wonderful and mysterious healing grains reached me. Homeopathic granules, which were hard to find at that time, came into our family’s life, and other home remedies took a back seat. When I travel, I always find a natural medicine pharmacy and replenish my supply of grains. The blades did their job perfectly, took away headaches and stomachaches, anxiety and more. We even got rid of the puppy’s seasickness and fear of driving with their help. It felt incredible and wonderful.
Then what happened to me, which probably many mothers experience when a baby or even several in a row arrives in the family. I developed various strange health problems. I took the grains, but I did not experience such a wonderful effect on myself as in children. Nor did they affect my husband. The granules did not seem to be as effective for adults. I was looking for natural, natural and common sense relief for my health issues and came across Ayurveda. Under the influence of Ayurveda, my problems gradually began to resolve and my anxiety about my health subsided. It became clear to me how different CAM treatment principles work. Among other things, why homeopathy is effective in small children and less so in adults.

Today, as an Ayurvedic practitioner, I am often asked whether Ayurveda and homeopathy can be used together. In this article, I will take a closer look at the topic.

Homeopathic medicines are obtained by potentiation of plant, animal and mineral substances. According to Ayurveda, the highly diluted substances obtained in this way have an effect on the subtle energetic level through the prana channels and the etheric body (pranamayakosha) and the mind channels and mental body (manomayakosha). The most important “therapy” in Ayurveda is natural diet and natural lifestyle, followed by herbal medicine. Ayurvedic nutrition and herbs work through the material body (annamayakosha), the digestive system and digestion, thus directly affecting the physical organism. Thus, Ayurveda and homeopathy work through different channels.

Homeopathic medicines are effective when the cause of illness or disharmony is in the mind or mental body. In the case of physical problems caused by the accumulation of undigested food residues in the digestive tract and the resulting general decrease in immunity, Ayurveda helps well. In most cases, however, the causes of diseases lie in digestion.

The digestive tract of babies and toddlers is “new and clean”. They are sensitive to the energy field around them and receptive to homeopathic grains. In the digestive system of an adult, undigested food residues – poisons – are deposited during life, and the immune system weakens as a result of inappropriate habits and intense mental life. The problems spread outside the digestive system and the weak points of the body are damaged. The symptoms of various diseases that materialize in the physical organism are felt. Inert and hard matter – the material body – is very difficult to influence energetically. It’s not impossible, but it takes a very long time. In this case, physical channels must be used, the body must be influenced through the digestive system and physical therapies such as massage, compress, acupuncture, etc. must be included.

Ayurveda reduces the need for a pill

Natural nutrition according to Ayurveda is chemical-free, local, seasonal, freshly prepared, mostly warm food. A natural rhythm of life means fixed meal times, daily bowel movements before breakfast, moderate exercise and sleep no later than ten o’clock. In addition to nutrition, rhythm of life and plants, Ayurveda uses very effective therapies that have a subtle energetic effect and soften stuck thought and behavior patterns, such as massage, yoga, mantra and meditation. In addition to them, the methodology that we know today as homeopathy. The principle of “like cures like” has been known for thousands of years, and medicines obtained by potentiation are considered in Ayurveda as part of the doctrine of healing with substances.

Ayurveda helps people take an active role in shaping their own health behaviors and reduces the need for a pill or pill. When I took paracetamol with my first child 27 years ago for a headache or other pain and gave it to the child, the second and third children got relief from belladonna grains. With the fourth child, who is now ten years old, all that was needed was caresses and love.

Our family’s daily and surest disease prevention practice is meals at specific times of the day, wholesome warm food three times a day and a good night’s sleep, which starts at ten o’clock at the latest for both children and adults. A sign of good health is when the stomach moves every day before breakfast and stool with the consistency of a ripe banana falls into the pot. Of course, there are also deviations, but the body can cope with them if the routine is generally in place.

A satisfied mother is the key to the success of the child’s health

The concept of life force is central to both brain veda and homeopathy. In Ayurveda it is called prana. Vitality is related to immunity. The immunity of mothers of young children decreases because they give part of their life force to children through pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. Every mother has a different reserve of life force, and when the cup begins to empty, figuratively speaking, the mind becomes unstable, satisfaction disappears and various health problems are felt.

Children up to seven years old are in the mother’s information field. The mother’s hypersensitivity, mood disorders or health problems lead to the fact that the children also become restless and sick. From the point of view of the health of mother and child, the most important thing is a satisfied and calm mother. It is very important to have a support system that would allow the mother to rest, recover and eat properly right after giving birth without worrying about household chores. They say it takes a whole village to raise a child. According to Ayurveda, it is good to give a new mother and baby a gentle massage with warm oil every day for the first 40 days after giving birth to help them adapt to the new situation, strengthen immunity and restore the mother’s vitality. In addition, massage and warm oil stabilize the mind and calm the nervous system, helping to prevent postpartum depression. 40 days of massage may seem utopian today, but you could start with a few times.

There is no one-size-fits-all miracle pill

It is good that the thought pattern is changing, and when looking for relief from the symptoms of the disease, the first thing is no longer to reach for antibiotics or painkillers, but to seek help from grains or food supplements. They generally have no or very few side effects. However, the fact remains that something is being grabbed from the outside. The mind acts outward to silence the symptoms, ignoring the deeper causes of the problems. The first thing you should do is stay calm, turn your mind inward and review your living arrangements. Is the stomach in order and the rhythm of life regular? Or has life become too rushed, external pressure and stress have increased, and peace of mind and sleep have become less? Is there a lot of traveling etc.?

People have always wanted to believe in miracle drugs that wipe away all problems. It goes without saying that there is no one-size-fits-all miracle pill. Although the herb can relieve symptoms, it does not remove the causes of health problems, which in most cases lie in inappropriate habits and thought patterns, lack of time and inner peace. In the case of children’s diseases, according to Ayurveda, home remedies of grandmothers, such as steams, compresses, baths, etc., can help. They require time, consistency and attention. Life force or prana and love go where you direct your attention. And love heals all wounds. Disease for the magpie, pain for the crow, other disease for the black bird…

The sense of security at home carries over to kindergarten, school and work

For me, Ayurveda has helped to explain and demystify homeopathy, which at one time seemed like a miracle method, and to understand how complementary and alternative medicine works. The answer to the question of whether Ayurveda and homeopathy can be used together is yes. Homeopathic medicines are easy to use and are generally effective and safe for children, but you should definitely review your diet and lifestyle and find time for children.

Ajurveeda is aimed at small, long-term changes in a person’s behavior and mind and helps to form habits that increase the feeling of love. A common, calm pace of life creates greater satisfaction within the family. Sitting at the dining table with their parents, children experience a sense of security. They bring a sense of inner peace with them to kindergarten or school and parents to work, thus creating greater harmony in communities outside the home. By remaining calm in any situation and slowing down the pace of life, we contribute to increasing peace in general in today’s overly restless world.
